About: Kia ora, my name is Cristian. My journey into filmmaking started in high school, filming small videos for my parents’ café on nothing but my iPhone. I was shooting, editing, and teaching myself as I went. What began as something fun and beneficial for the café, became something more when people started telling me how much they looked forward to the next video. That encouragement stuck with me, and made me continue creating. Not long after, I was asked to create videos for people who saw value in my work. That was the turning point. I realised this wasn’t just something I enjoyed, it was something I believed in. Coming into my last few weeks of high school, I made the decision to leave and fully pursue building what would become Homeboy. The name was inspired by a small café in Aussie that I’ve admired, it's a place that grew from humble beginnings into something meaningful, built on story and community. That journey felt close to home, because I'm also starting out as a one man mission, building something step by step in my home-town Whanganui. Homeboy is a journey, and with every story I listen to and every film I create, you become part of my story.
